The Trump administration just cut the budget for unaccompanied minor immigrants staying in federally administered shelters. The budget cuts will affect these children’s access to legal aid and education. Without legal aid, they will be more likely to face deportation; without education, they will lag behind their peers and slow their progress in learning English.
